'Jane Cook has a talent for restoring period houses and over the years has worked on the repair and decoration of some wonderful old piles, from medieval manor houses to the only Edwin Lutyens house in Suffolk. In the autumn of 2000 she was called in to advise on a 15th Century hall house in East Anglia. The owners wanted to create a style that reflected and respected the history of the house, but with a contemporary slant.'
